Bones and Bodies

Magnets and Magnetism

This diagram from a science journal shows how the force of magnetism goes through cardboard.

Lexi used two magnets to "erase" the whiteboard without touching the magnet on the front.

Jaydon demonstrates a magnets force with an iron washer.

How does Alyssa do that?

Ok, Will, what's keeping those magnets apart?

What can you do with cedar bark?

We had a little Christmas vacation contest to see what creative ways students could use the cedar bark that Lexi brought in. We learned that the native Americans of Washington state used cedar bark for lots of things. Miles and Kodi both brought in their creations. Kodi made a Christmas ornament using the cedar bark as the base for the wreath. Miles used 3 small oranges put together snowman fashion with toothpicks and covered them with cedar bark to makehis own Chewbacca. We congratulate both of them for spending some vacation time being creative!
